It is very important to maintain balance between work life and personal life. The importance of work life balance and related legislation concerning holidays, rest periods, working hours and night working should not be denied. The US government gives facilities and exemptions to the employees to make their life contented by availing some medical facilities.
Importance of work life balance
The organizations use work life balance terminology in order to develop and maintain a healthy and strong working atmosphere. It will allow the workers to settle a balance in their social and official work responsibilities. By this approach the organizations increase productivity level and loyalty level. Special laws have been considering in this respect which will eliminate or try to decrease the undesirable impact on families of the employees with the Charles Laverty.
Work and Families Act 2006 Added to the Employment Act 2002
- Constitutional pay for motherhood and constitutional pay for adoption has increased to 39
- Removal of duration of service obligation for extra motherhood vacation.
- An option of remaining in contact for 10 days has been announced for working ladies who are on maternity vacations deprived of dropping their SMP.
- Prior notice for joining date after maternity vacations has been extended to 8 weeks from 28 days.
- The Extra Paternity vacations and pay of an employee has extended to 26 weeks.
- Some amount of extra paternity vacations can be payable in case, the mother has resumed the work. From 6 April 2007, the employee’s right to make a request for flexibility in working hours has also been extended.
The Employment Act 2002
In order to facilitate the working parents the employment act 2002 has announced novel laws. Al the working parents who have young children and disable children, have received more benefits presently in comparison of past rules for parenthood. They have extra more options with work adjustments. This will create such a working environment which inure benefits for all the team members i.e. employers, employees and the children.
The working parents who have young children of age under 6 and disable children with ager under 18 can make a request for bendable working hours.
Additional Adoption Leave (AAL)
As we talk about the 26 week vacation, which will start after the closing of the OAL.
If you are going to obtain AAL leaves, you are entitled to resume on your previous job or to a job with same capacity with the same terms and conditions which you are enjoying previously.
